A safety switch is a device installed in places where safety must be ensured, such as the door of a machine tool or the safety fence surrounding it.
Also known as a safety lock. Operating a machine with the door or surrounding safety fence open could lead to an accident. Safety switches detect when these switches are closed and only allow the machine to run at that time. Some also have the ability to lock the door and safety fence.
